We’d love to hear from you!

Our family (4 tents, 4 cars, 7 adults and 5 children) have just spent three nights at this great campsite, and we all thoroughly recommend it to others. The shower/ toilet blocks are spotless, they are spacious and the showers have lots of hot water. The campsite is really well maintained, the grass is cut, the play area and other facilities kept in good order. The views all the way around the camping field are terrific, and we had lots of space to set up our bbq / camping stoves and more room for family games of football and cricket. A great camping experience.

Camping as good as it gets!

We were in a van with an awning up on the very spacious open field, which has got a bit of a slope. It was a partially blustery weekend so we were a bit exposed. With hindsite we should have pitched in one of the more sheltered (and flatter) locations. An extremely well maintained site, spotlessly clean bathrooms (playing Radio 2 ????) and wash-up area with masses of hot water.

Spotlessly Clean

We cannot fault this lovely site. Lovely friendly wardens, well kept dog friendly site with designated dog walking area. Clean, warm shower block with music playing. Great location for a walk into Buxton and a short drive to the beautiful Goyt Valley. We highly recommend this well kept, quiet site with lovely views. We will definitely be returning ????

Such a lovely site

We booked literally 30 mins before arriving and this made us feel no less welcome, we were treated fantastically but the staff who couldn’t do enough for us, the chap even followed us as he’s forgotten to give us a leaflet on the area. What a beautiful site, we got to choose which pitch we wanted and the views are outstanding. Very clean toilet and shower facilities with music on and a hair dryer inside! Pot cleaning facilities were great, laundrette (I believe I saw), farm shop on site etc. the little shop onsite has odd bits such as matches, sweets, coffee, sugar and cold drinks in the fridge but you’re really not far from Buxton town centre if you need anything more specific.

Outstanding & friendly

“We’ve camped at Lime Tree a couple of times and recently decided to try out the new camping pods. The pods are a decent size with a fixed double bed and fab mattress, small fridge, heater and power sockets. The weather was torrential rain but it didn’t spoil our stay and we will use the pod again.

The shower and toilet block is always clean and not far wherever you decided to pitch up or from the pods.

The site is close to Buxton approx 20 min walk. There’s a decent Weatherspoons in Buxton if you don’t fancy cooking breakfast and in the evening there’s lots of places to eat out of enjoy live entertainment free. Buxton is a lovely place to visit and there are great surrounding places of interest and pretty towns like Bakewell and Castleton.

The owners are always welcoming and friendly, I would recommend Lime Tree to anyone looking for a cheeky break.”

Peaceful, immaculately clean and tidy, and fantastically located for Buxton.

This site has won many awards and it’s easy to see why after our weekend visit. We wanted somewhere relatively close for the last camp of the year and decided that we’d try Buxton. Previously in the year I’d skipped over this site as I remember the 5×5 metre pitch sizes for electric hookups were too small for us with a six berth tent. However I hadn’t read the small print and a simple call was all it needed! There are quite a few larger pitches.

On arrival we headed for reception and were given a very informative introduction to the area. The owners have also negotiated local discounts for eating out and getting taxi’s to and from the site, so a great start for anyone new to the area! We were shown to our pitch which was situated in the touring caravan field. The field is on a slope however the pitches are such that the incline is only slight. The pitches are well kept with a reasonably good amount of room between each other. We opted for an electrical hookup, hence why we were in the touring caravan field however I did prefer this field to the full camping field.

The toilet and shower facilities were the best we’d ever seen, I could not fault them at all. Super clean, fresh and bright and only a minutes walk from our pitch. The washing up area is slightly small with just two sinks but equally immaculate, potentially in high season there maybe a short wait for these after breakfast or evening meal time.

Location wise, the site is perfectly situated on the outskirts of Buxton in view of an iconic railway bridge. Further enough to make you feel you are really in the country and close enough to walk to several pubs nearby (around 20mins walk). Furthermore there is a Morrisons supermarket within 600 metres, meaning you don’t have to load the car full of food before setting off!

Finally everyone we met on the site were lovely and would always say hello and have a chat. The site has strict rules on noise after 10pm and I think this attracts campers similar to ourselves who are respectful and considerate. You could hear a pin drop after 10pm! Perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway.

We’re hoping to return in 2020 when spring comes along, and already have our eyes on one of the pitches with a picnic bench!

Liked: We had a really lovely 3 night stay at Lime Tree Holiday Park. The staff were very friendly and helpful- they happily gave us info and tips about local walks and amenities. The site is beautifully kept with a spotless toilet/shower/pot wash block. Walkable into Buxton (take a torch if it’s dark!), amazing views across the surrounding landscape. Highly recommend and would 100% return!

Lovely easy walk to Buxton which has great pubs & coffee shops. Many are dog friendly.

We were lucky as the pavilion was holding a brilliant craft & food fayre, lots of Christmas shopping done.

Highly recommend this site.

Fantastic site, excellent clean facilities., August 21

We had a fabulous time,

Tina was welcoming and warm,

The facilities were excellent and clean, and as a couple with a young child, we felt that it was a safe space for our son to explore.

Thank you, we’d definitely return.

The campsite was a little bit of heaven., August 21

“All site was quiet with very clean facilities. Very polite, helpful and friendly staff from the moment of booking to end of stay. Play area was spot on for younger children. Short walk into the town centre was easily done over a lovely field then down by the side of a picturesque river.

Will certainly book again. ”

“Great location, clean toilets and showers, quiet and peaceful camping field apart from the owls at night! We didn’t utilise the games room but it’s a decent addition for getting some WiFi connection and a distraction for an hour or two. Well maintained grounds, with good views across the surrounding countryside.

Nice site overall.”

“Friendly welcome, well kept site and cleanest, pleasant shower block we’ve ever been to. Lovely picturesque setting. We would highly recommend for families. Play area for children with slide, swings, climbing area and see saw. Farm shop also in centre of the site. Option of electric hook up.

Will definitely return!”

“We were greeted by a very friendly lady, they had a cancellation so we were put on one of the top touring pitches with a view of the Viaduct, this is better as nearer to the facilities, it’s a great spot and within walking distance of the town, there is a path but the road is very busy and I would imagine the bottom pitches could be noisy but more sheltered from the elements.

We were there for two nights and the weather was pretty grim all the time but we enjoyed it all the same. Facilities all nice and clean and heated so no complaints and would like to return again.

Thank you!”

“Very clean, shower and toilets are the best we have used. Staff very friendly and helpful would recommend and we will return.

Fantastic stop accessible to many areas, ideal camping site.”

“The layout, with the large field with tents round the outside and space for games/mixing (both kids and adults) in the centre. Really friendly atmosphere, lots of new campers enjoying their first staycation for a while! Games room – well organised, gave a good wet weather option, and again more time for kids mixing (essential for us, as we had an only child 10 year old in the party. He made friends quickly!)

Washing machine and dryer was also great when clothes were wet. Very efficient and friendly rubbish collection, so the bins never overflowed (unlike some other campsites). Finally the location, beautiful views but close to Buxton with all its amenities. Close to Morrisons for shopping too. Perfect!

Great camping for a family holiday, well run, great atmosphere!”

“The staff were friendly. The toilets and showers very clean and well maintained. It is in a great location, walkable into Buxton itself and a good base for exploring the Peaks. It is a dog friendly site.

Had a lovely stay and would recommend this site.”

“We have just come back from a Monday to Friday break away at Lime Tree. When we arrived my first thought was how spacious it was. Was so nice to see that there weren’t caravans all overlooking each other that you get in a lot of other parks. We booked in at reception and the lovely lady at reception actually walked us to our caravan. The caravan was absolutely spotlessly clean. So very impressed. The park was lovely and quiet. A tip for people staying there. If you walk out of the park, the other side of the road opposite the park is a gate with a stile into a field. If you want to go into the town, take this path as it is such a good short cut. All in all we had a lovely stay and cannot think of anything that I would want to change about the park or the caravan.

Thank you Lime Tree for giving us a lovely stay.”

“This is our first time on this site and it certainly wont be our last. The team have done a great job in making the site welcome to all campers regardless of whether you are a tent, mobile, pod or static owners/renter. In an ideal spot on the outskirts of Buxton you are in the middle of the wonderful peak district lushness whilst being within a 15-20 minute walk right into the town centre. With a shop, laundry room, free freezer service and showers what more could you ask for from a site.

The Team were always busy on the site keeping it clean and the landscaping perfect. A great location for exploring the surrounding hills and a small car journey to the wonderfully English county village of Ashford in the water and Bakewell a few miles from there (stock up on those tarts!).

The camping field we were on was at the back of the site with a slight slope only but there with several flat areas between the reception and the field which were employed as the weekend hit. There was also a touring field where our friends camped with EHUs this field had its own toilet/shower block.

Even just entering the site you got a really calming feeling as you drove through the static vans towards reception so will be returning here as soon as we can.”

“Stayed over bank holiday weekend, this is the 3rd time we have stayed at this campsite. Everything is spotless. The owners and staff are all extremely friendly and helpful. Yes the facilities might be a bit of a walk depending on where you pitch, but you will get that with most sites. There are 3 shower cubicles in the gents and even on a packed bank holiday weekend, we never had to wait.

Lots to do in walking distance. Highly recommend doing the farm walk and visiting the Buxton Brewery. Fab way to spend an afternoon!”
