We’d love to hear from you!

“We’ve camped at Lime Tree a couple of times and recently decided to try out the new camping pods. The pods are a decent size with a fixed double bed and fab mattress, small fridge, heater and power sockets. The weather was torrential rain but it didn’t spoil our stay and we will use the pod again.

The shower and toilet block is always clean and not far wherever you decided to pitch up or from the pods.

The site is close to Buxton approx 20 min walk. There’s a decent Weatherspoons in Buxton if you don’t fancy cooking breakfast and in the evening there’s lots of places to eat out of enjoy live entertainment free. Buxton is a lovely place to visit and there are great surrounding places of interest and pretty towns like Bakewell and Castleton.

The owners are always welcoming and friendly, I would recommend Lime Tree to anyone looking for a cheeky break.”

Peaceful, immaculately clean and tidy, and fantastically located for Buxton.

This site has won many awards and it’s easy to see why after our weekend visit. We wanted somewhere relatively close for the last camp of the year and decided that we’d try Buxton. Previously in the year I’d skipped over this site as I remember the 5×5 metre pitch sizes for electric hookups were too small for us with a six berth tent. However I hadn’t read the small print and a simple call was all it needed! There are quite a few larger pitches.

On arrival we headed for reception and were given a very informative introduction to the area. The owners have also negotiated local discounts for eating out and getting taxi’s to and from the site, so a great start for anyone new to the area! We were shown to our pitch which was situated in the touring caravan field. The field is on a slope however the pitches are such that the incline is only slight. The pitches are well kept with a reasonably good amount of room between each other. We opted for an electrical hookup, hence why we were in the touring caravan field however I did prefer this field to the full camping field.

The toilet and shower facilities were the best we’d ever seen, I could not fault them at all. Super clean, fresh and bright and only a minutes walk from our pitch. The washing up area is slightly small with just two sinks but equally immaculate, potentially in high season there maybe a short wait for these after breakfast or evening meal time.

Location wise, the site is perfectly situated on the outskirts of Buxton in view of an iconic railway bridge. Further enough to make you feel you are really in the country and close enough to walk to several pubs nearby (around 20mins walk). Furthermore there is a Morrisons supermarket within 600 metres, meaning you don’t have to load the car full of food before setting off!

Finally everyone we met on the site were lovely and would always say hello and have a chat. The site has strict rules on noise after 10pm and I think this attracts campers similar to ourselves who are respectful and considerate. You could hear a pin drop after 10pm! Perfect for a relaxing weekend getaway.

We’re hoping to return in 2020 when spring comes along, and already have our eyes on one of the pitches with a picnic bench!

“We love the location of this park, Rural setting but within walking distance of Buxton and it many amenities. The non-electric camping field has decent options from the large open field to the more secluded small levels of grass verges.

Staff were very friendly and we actually like the fact that they patrol the fields at certain parts of the day to ensure everything is in order.”

“Friendly and welcoming staff. Great location, walked into Buxton in approx 15 mins. You can chose where to pitch your tent, lots of space available even on a busy weekend. Toilet and shower block clean.

Would stay again if in the area.”

“Stayed long weekend at the Lightwood Lodge. Had an enjoyable time at this quiet and family friendly site. 20 min walk to Buxton. Very friendly welcome, lodge was all ready on arrival. Has a twin and double room with a lovely living area and excellent and large shower. Kitchen was well equipped. Nice electric fire and heaters in each room if necessary. It’s very clean and tidy.”

“Amazing little site! Booked last minute and managed to get an electric pitch for 2 nights!

Having being quite new to camping we have normally gone to some haven Sites and sites with lots more amenities but this one blew me away! The facilities were so clean and not sill of flies or daddy long legs but was amazing with music on all night.

Very quiet site at night which is amazing, the only drips of the kids aren’t allowed to play football my soon is only 4 so likes to just kick a small ball but was told no which is understandable due to other caravans!

Tina the owner is amazing so opened the shop for me when I was gasping for some juice which I was very thankful.

Will defo be back 100 percent! Xxx”

“The site was very well maintained, the WC and shower facilities were spotless and warm. The waste bins are well provided, as was the out door pot washing facilities, with running hot water.

The rural setting of the surrounding hills added to the sites favourable consideration as a welcoming place to stay.”

“Really friendly and helpful wardens, we like the fact you can pitch anywhere. Showers were hot and block was well maintained and clean, with hair dryer. Kids park was fab, and games room with WiFi and pool table was an added bonus.
